I'm a mom of three in grad school studying medicinal chemistry and in those rare moments of quiet, usually at about midnight, I hack and polish or spin new tales. The writing bug bit me about four and half years ago. Since "completing" that first novel and then re-writing it each time I realized how many glaring new-writer mistakes were in it, I've learned a lot and grown tremendously as a writer. I still fight a battle with words. I've learned to weld the sword of deletion without cringing, but every idea seems to blossom into a full length novel. Then that novel gives birth to an even larger story arc which spawns a series..... *sigh*. Do they make 12-step programs for writers who just can't write a single story, let alone a short story?

OH Gosh-I can't just pick one! Generally, the one I'm reading :-) [I read a lot!! Scifi, Romance, Fantasy, Mysteries, Crime thrillers]

Ray Bradbury's "There will come soft Rains" Creepy, yet profound...read it in school and remembered it every since

Favorite Author:

Sherrilyn Kenyon==> awesome imagination and characters so well written they seem real, Karen Marie Moning==> great description, characterization and the woman can write a cliff hanger ending like no-body's business. J.R. Ward==> I like vampire stuff...Okay. Nora Roberts==> well, at least her JD Robb series and the paranormal romances she kicks out. The contemporary stories have gotten rather formulaic. I've read most of her books, but only a few are "re-readers"

What I'm reading:

Well, mostly boring journal articles, but I just started a epic style story about neolithic Native Americans....so far I can mostly refrain from editing in my head (lol) so I think it will be good.

Why I write:

Why? I love stories. I love the process of imagining a whole new world and characters to populate that world. In essence, it's like playing make-believe as an adult and putting what I dream into words.

My goals as an Author:

I want others to enjoy the stories I create as much as I enjoy them. Ideally, I'd really like to get published.
